Approximately fifteen minutes north of San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge, Mill Valley has real estate that falls in every price range. There are usually approximately 200 homes on the market at one time here with an average price of $1.3 million with approximately 15% of the homes being under $700k. Besides the good commute to the city, Mill Valley is very family oriented, having excellent schools and activities for children. Because of the scarcity of available lots and land for building, there is little new construction Mill Valley real estate but many of the homes have been rebuilt or remodeled. There are many choices available to suit every buyer’s taste and there are also some grand old homes on beautiful lots waiting for a buyer to create their own dream home. Despite the seasonal fog, Mill Valley has always been one of the most popular neighborhoods to live in with many buyers coming from other areas of Marin.
